Mar 19: It's Supposed to Be Hard

If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.
— Martin Luther King Jr.

it’s Monday, a new week. wasting no time, here we go.

By now, you might be in a strong rhythm with your mornings this month, you know what you want to do with this time every day, what you are getting after, and you have a good system going.

For many of us the 3rd week can feel harder--the new month energy may be fading and our motivation may be dipping or even dropping like a stone.

If you are in the second group, keep in mind that when things feel harder, it's not a bad thing. In fact it might be because you are leveling up. It's an important part of the process.

It is impossible to achieve any kind of meaningful success without going through setbacks and failures. It is these hardship that give us opportunities to grow. How we deal with them has a major impact and shapes us into who we are. We can't avoid all struggles that come our way, but we can choose how we reflect and grow from them when they do.

With this in mind, consider this: treat your harder DED days as welcome opportunities for growth, curiosity and reflection. These rougher days are invaluable as you build yourself and the life you want.

Slow or harder early mornings can be frustrating, but we can welcome them just the same as the ones we smash, for they are often opportunities in disguise.  We simply haven't been trained to see them this way, and that subtle shift in perspective may make a world of difference.

everything feeling good so far this month?

That's awesome. But I got a challenge for you:

Go a bit deeper and ask why. If it's not challenging you, if it's feeling easy-- are you playing it safe? Are you in a positive rut where you are comfortable instead of taking steps and growing? We don't want you to struggle every day in life, but when things feel too easy it's important to pause and see where we are truly at. Maybe now is the time we need to stretch a bit more beyond our comfort zone, dream a little bigger, and take the next step.

And one final thought for this Monday: Isolation won’t help you get where you want to go. Hop over to the FB group and connect with the community. Let us know today what you are working towards this month. Is it feeling harder or too easy some days? We hear a lot from the DED community about how curious you are to know what everyone else is going through and working towards, so this morning we invite you to share your struggles and wins together.

We'll be reading every one.
