We Messed Up

See, somewhere along the way, we set the expectation that life was supposed to be clean and orderly. Neat and tidy. That we are supposed to have it all together and that things are always supposed to go as planned.

And when it doesn't, we tell ourselves that something is wrong. That we’ve messed up, lost control, or made bad decisions.

Worse, we’ve now magnified this through social media, where scroll feeds us a carefully curated glimpse into the lives of others. Glimpses showing everything they have together, and none of what they don’t.

But life is not clean, it is not orderly, nor should it ever be.

It is messy and whether or not we want to accept it or not, most of what happens to us is beyond our control. Most of the time, this world is just a collection of chaotic actions that send us running around, frantically trying to make sense of.

So, to base our happiness on "having it all together” is a flawed plan that leaves many of us wondering where we went so wrong, when in fact we didn't.

To believe that we can always have our lives in order leaves us racing to the bottom in a world that's always changing.

So, please, if we have any advice for your, it's to embrace that this whole thing is a mess – and a beautiful one at that.

Doing that will make your life a hell of a lot easier.

We promise.
